Concrete sealing is important for many reasons.  Have you looked at your garage concrete lately?  Any oil stains?  Does it just plain look ugly?  Is the concrete cracked and splitting?  Or maybe it's brand new and beautiful!  Just looking at your garage concrete floor you can find many reasons to seal and protect it.  Here are the two main reasons we hear from our customers as to why they choose to have this process done.

1)  Appearance

We all take pride in our homes for many different reasons.  But the underlying reason for every other is we want it to look beautiful!  When people come to our homes we like them to look immaculate.  We want people to know that we have pride in our prize possessions.  Our homes reflect the type of person we are.  Because it's not part of our main house we often overlook the garage.  Getting the concrete in your garage sealed can add that final look of beauty and completeness to an already beautiful home.

2)  Safety and Foundational Stability

Many homes face a major problem now as they have for years.  The foundation starts cracking under the house settling, causing costly repairs that could have been avoided.  "But how can painting our garage floor protect us from that?" you may be asking.  The seal coating that we put on your floor is no average run-of-the-mill house paint.  The garage floor sealer we apply -- when applied properly -- holds a bond twice as strong as concrete.  That means it's literally working to hold it together.  Plus with the added no-slip grit that goes into every coating you don't have to worry about slipping or falling.

OUR PROCESS!

We first come in and evaluate your garage floor for sealability.  Some garage floors are not porous enough to hold the sealer.  This is done by a visual inspection and a "moisture migration" test.  This is done by taping a piece of plastic or cellophane to the garage floor and inspecting it for condensation 24 hours later.  If the test is passed we can proceed.  But if there's moisture present an extra step must be taken to leach the moisture from your garage concrete.

When the time comes to seal your concrete we prep the floor with a combination cleaner/de-greaser/and re-surfacer.  We then must wait 24 hours for the concrete to totally dry and return within the week to seal it.  The sealing time differs based on garage concrete pad size, but can usually be done in one day.  After it is laid you must stay off of the concrete for 24 hours to allow proper drying time.

The base concrete sealer that we use is a semi-gloss.  If you would like to have a mirror image look to your garage floor we can add one last step to the process by adding a last coating that gives your garage floor a shine like none other.  Most of our customers choose to go with this last step.  It's that finishing touch that you just can't pass up.  If you're going to have your concrete in your garage sealed your may as well go the distance!
